Key decision threshold
Key decisions are those executive decisions that are subject to statutory rules as to public and press access. They are the most significant decisions made in the council. In the borough of Rochdale, key decisions are reserved for decision by the leader and cabinet, except where delegated to officers.
The council has determined that the statutory definition of a key decision shall be applied in accordance with the following thresholds:
- Financial - a decision which is likely to result in the council:
- Incurring new expenditure or making new savings, or:
- Incurring financial obligations or risk above £500,000
- Community - a decision that will have significant impact on those living or working in 2 or more wards in the borough of Rochdale.
