Appeal a benefit decision

Before you appeal

You cannot make an appeal straight away.

  1. You first need to ask us for an explanation of our decision.
  2. If you don't understand or aren't happy with the explanation, you can ask us to look at the decision again.
  3. If we don't change our decision and you're still not happy with our explanation, only then can you make an appeal.

You can ask us for either of these things or request an appeal by completing the benefit decision form.
