Domestic abuse can have a huge effect on employees and businesses.
There are resources and training available for employers and workplaces to raise awareness about domestic abuse:
- Employers Initiative on Domestic Abuse - free resources and tools, created by a network of over 1,000 small and large employers.
- Domestic abuse training for employers - SafeLives offer training and support for employers, managers and HR staff from domestic abuse experts.
Domestic abuse resources for landlords and housing providers
Housing is a primary barrier for people attempting to leave abusive situations. Landlords and housing providers are ideally placed to spot and respond to domestic abuse as the first point of contact.
- The Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) - has many resources for housing providers and private landlords to help with this response.
Domestic abuse resources for practioners
If you're working in a professional capacity with a victim of domestic abuse, get help to identify high risk cases and how to manage them.
- Domestic Abuse Stalking and Honour Based Violence (DASH) Risk Assessment - the Dash risk checklist is used by IDVAs and other frontline professionals to identify and assess risks when a potential victim discloses domestic abuse, ‘honour’- based violence or stalking
