Change of address for Council Tax

You'll need to sign in or register for MyAccount to tell us you're moving house.

1. Sign in or register for MyAccount using the link below.
2. Add your Council Tax account, if you haven't done so already. You'll need your 8-digit Council Tax reference number for the address you're moving from which you can find on your bill. You'll also need to answer a few security questions.
3. Click on the link to view the full details of your Council Tax account, then follow the link for moving house.
4. We'll send your closing bill to your new address. We aim to do this within 2 weeks of you moving into your new home, or if you've already moved within 2 weeks of you telling us. In some cases, it may take longer to send your closing bill.
5. You'll be responsible for paying Council Tax until the date the sale completes on your property. If you're renting, you'll be responsible for paying Council Tax until the date your tenancy agreement ends. If you've overpaid for your old address, we'll send you a refund when we close your account.
6. Remember, it's your responsibility to tell your new local authority that you've moved house so you can register for Council Tax at your new address. Find your new local council
