Change of address for Council Tax

You'll need to sign in or register for MyAccount to tell us you're moving house.

You're staying in the borough

1. Sign in or register for MyAccount using the link below.
2. Add your Council Tax account, if you haven't done so already. You'll need your 8 digit Council Tax reference number for the address you're moving from which you can find on your bill. You'll also need to answer a few security questions.
3. Click on the link to view the full details of your Council Tax account, then follow the link for moving house.
4. We'll then send you a closing bill and an opening bill at your new address. We aim to do this within 2 weeks of you moving into your new home, or if you've already moved within 2 weeks of you telling us. In some cases, it may take longer to send your closing bill.
5. If you've overpaid for your old address, we'll reduce what you owe for your new address.
6. Once you've got your Council Tax bill for your new address, you can sign in to MyAccount to check your balance, amend or set up your Direct Debit payments and more.
