Change of address for Council Tax

To tell us you're moving to Rochdale borough from somewhere else or moving from a property where you didn't pay Council Tax:

1. Complete the online form to register your new home for Council Tax purposes.
2. Alternatively, you can download and complete a form to tell us you're moving to the borough. Email the completed form to us using the details on the form. Download the form to tell us you're moving to the borough
3. We'll then send you your first bill. We aim to do this within 2 weeks of you moving into your new home, or if you've already moved within 2 weeks of us receiving your form. In some cases, it may take longer to send you your bill.
4. You'll be responsible for paying Council Tax from the date sale completes on your property. If you're renting, you'll be responsible for paying Council Tax from the date your tenancy agreement begins.
5. Remember, it's your responsibility to tell the local authority where you've moved from that you're moving out. Find your local council
