About Freedom of Information requests
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act allows anybody to ask a public authority for information that is already held in recorded form. It sets out exemptions from that right and places a number of obligations on us.
If you request information about the environment, it will be handled under the Environmental Regulations (EIRs). This includes things like energy, noise and waste.
