Norman Barnes Fund
The Norman Barnes Fund gives money to help with the welfare of the aged in the former county borough of Rochdale.
Eligibility
You can apply for the Norman Barnes Fund if:
- You live in Rochdale, Castleton, Norden or Bamford.
- You're aged over 60.
Organisations can apply for the Norman Barnes Fund if they assist the elderly in Rochdale, Castleton, Norden or Bamford.
Residents of Heywood, Middleton and Pennines do not qualify for this fund.
Restrictions
You can only apply once in any 12 month period for up to a maximum of £300 for individual applicants and £500 for organisations.
All applications are considered on their merits at regular meetings of the Trustees.
No payments can be made to help to pay tax, Council Tax or any other statutory payments.
When applications are considered
Applications to the Norman Barnes Fund can be submitted at any time throughout the year. However, applications are only considered at meetings of the Trustees and will be presented at the next available meeting date. Applications received after a meeting has taken place will be considered at the next scheduled meeting.
We aim to publish meeting dates on this page once they have been confirmed.
