Types of inspections
All our inspections are to check compliance with the building regulations.
You should not confuse this with a full supervision service which your architect or surveyor may carry out.
Foundations
We'll inspect the ground conditions to ensure it's good enough to support the building or extension before concrete is poured.
Floor slab inspection
We'll inspect the insulation, damp proof membrane and check the reinforcement is correct before concrete is poured.
Drains
We'll inspect new drainage and drainage connections before they are covered over.
We may also need to test drains at the completion stage.
Pre-plaster
We'll inspect items such as structural beams and timbers, insulation and possible electrical work before plastering takes place.
Inspecting work already carried out (Regularisation)
As the work has been done without inspection we'll require you to open up or remove part of the work for inspection or to provide additional information such as structural calculations.
This can be expensive and we cannot issue a Regularisation Certificate unless the work complies with the regulations. The fee is not refundable.
