Certificates you can get

We've been responsible for recording all births, marriages, civil partnerships and deaths in the borough since 1837. However, we've not always had responsibility for all the same areas we do now.

Certificates you can get from Rochdale Register Office:

Rochdale, Heywood, Milnrow and Littleborough - all certificates from 1837 to the present day.
Middleton - all certificates from 1837-1933 and 1974 to the present day. If you want a certificate from 1933-1974, you will need to apply for a copy certificate from Oldham Council.
Whitworth - all certificates from 1837-1974. If you want a certificate after this date, you will need to apply for a copy certificate from Rossendale Council

Opening hours:
Monday–Friday: 9am–4.15pm (on the last Thursday of each month, 10.30am-4.15pm).

Saturday and Sunday: ceremonies only.

You must make an appointment to register births and deaths and give notice of marriage.
