Youth Training trainees - Council Tax discount

If you're a Youth Training trainee, you may be able to get a Council Tax discount.

Eligibility

You can claim a Council Tax discount if you're:

  • On a training scheme approved for section 28 of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992.
  • Under 25 years old.

How to apply

To apply for a trainee's discount, you need:

  • A signed declaration from your employer.
  • Your 8-digit Council Tax reference number which you can find on your bill.
