18–19 year olds on child benefit - Council Tax discount

If you're 18 or 19 years old and you're eligible for child benefit, you're not counted for Council Tax purposes.

How to apply

To apply for a Council Tax discount, you'll need:

  • Proof you're entitled to child benefit.
  • Your 8 digit Council Tax reference number which you can find on your bill.
