Since 12 February 2024, it has been a legal requirement for all development under the Town and Country Planning Act (unless exempt) to provide at least a 10 per cent biodiversity net gain.
What you need to do
If you don't provide the following information as part of your planning application, it may lead to delays or possible refusal.
- When you submit your planning application you'll need to provide us with:
- A completed post-development habitat map.
- A biodiversity net gain statement or draft Biodiversity Gain Plan setting out your biodiversity net gain strategy.
- A completed post-development statutory biodiversity metric.
- If your proposed development is subject to biodiversity net gain, your application must also be accompanied by the minimum information set out in the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2015.
