You can renew your marriage vows or civil partnership promises at Rochdale Register Office in a unique and personal way. It does not have any legal status.
A civil ceremony cannot include any religious content. If you'd prefer a religious ceremony, you'll need to contact the relevant minister to discuss your requirements.
Arrange your ceremony
You'll need to follow these steps to arrange your renewal ceremony:
- Find locations for your ceremony.
- Provisionally book your ceremony.
- Make an appointment - once you've decided on the location and date of your ceremony, contact the Register Office to book an appointment to discuss the details of your ceremony and to pay a deposit.
- Attend your appointment - you'll need to bring your marriage or civil partnership certificate with you.
- Have your ceremony - we'll present you with a commemorative certificate during the ceremony.
Personalising your ceremony

- Bringing your own music
- Having readings read by your guests
- Saying additional vows or promises
- Writing your own personal vows
- A rededication of rings or the giving of new rings

Having your vow renewal ceremony at the Red Rose Suite at Rochdale Register Office costs:
- Monday-Friday: £169
- Saturday: £224
- Sunday or bank holidays: £300
Renewal of vows at other approved venues' prices
Renewing your vows at a licensed venue in the borough of Rochdale, other than the Rochdale Register Office, costs:
- Monday-Friday: £248
- Saturday: £308
