Eating and drinking
During a flood, make sure you:
- Do not eat food that's come into contact with floodwater.
- Do not drink, clean your teeth or cook with water from your tap until United Utilities says it's safe.
- Wash your hands or any other parts of your body that have been in contact with floodwater before handling food.
- Only drink bottled water.
- Be careful when using bottled water to make formula milk for babies and infants. Bottled water usually contains higher quantities of minerals than tap water. Boiling bottled water can concentrate these minerals. You should get advice from a health professional before making formula milk from bottled water.
