Looking for a free, festive event that all the family can enjoy? Drop in to our Holiday Hive Family Fun Day for a host of Christmassy crafts, activities and stories throughout the day.
- Who is this event suitable for? All are welcome. This event is most suited for families with pre-school and primary school aged children.
- Do I need to book? No, you can just turn up. However, crafts are ‘first come, first served’, so you may need to wait for a space at busy times.

We’ve teamed up with town centre chaplain, Rev Margaret, who’ll also be presenting a special story and crafts session, and we’ll finish off the day with traditional carols round the Christmas tree. During the afternoon, we may even have a very special visitor...
Make sure to choose some books to take home too. If you’re not already a member, it’s free to join the library
Seasonal and fancy dress is welcome.
Activities
- 9.30am–11am: decorating Christmas tree ornaments, crackers and calendars.
- 11am–11.15am: story time
- 11.15am–12.45pm: making Christmas tree angels, wreaths and stockings
- 12.45pm–1.30pm: break
- 1.30pm–2.45pm: Nativity story time with Rev Margaret, followed by Christmas cards and other crafts
- 2.45pm: special surprise guest, with light refreshments
- 3.30pm–4.30pm: carol singing around the tree
As well as the activities above, there will be the following activities you can get involved in throughout the day:
- Bauble bingo hunt
- Festive photobooth
