6 July 2024–14 September 2024. The Summer Reading Challenge is aimed at 4–11 year olds, but older or younger children can also take part if they'd like to.

The 2024 Summer Reading Challenge will be a celebration of the creative arts. We’ll be inspiring children to express themselves in creative ways, tap into a world of imagination and storytelling, and – of course – to read.
This summer, children can visit their local library to join the Marvellous Makers who are all part of their local creative club, where they enjoy coming up with fun creations, exploring ideas and telling stories together.
