Following the parliamentary review conducted by the Boundary Commission for England in 2023, parliamentary constituency boundaries in the borough of Rochdale have now changed.
The boundary changes only relate to parliamentary constituencies (the area an MP is elected to represent in Parliament). Services and Council Tax in your local area are set by Rochdale Borough Council and this review does not change local authority boundaries.
The review took place to make sure all constituencies reflect the ever changing population across the UK. Every constituency must have an electorate that is no smaller than 69,724, and no larger than 77,062.
Which parliamentary constituency am I eligible to vote in?
The borough of Rochdale now sits across 3 parliamentary constituencies:
- Rochdale - this parliamentary constituency is administered by Rochdale Borough Council
- Heywood and Middleton North - this parliamentary constituency is administered by Rochdale Borough Council
- Blackley and Middleton South - this parliamentary constituency is administered by Rochdale Borough Council, however, the votes are counted and the election result is declared by Manchester City Council
