Notice of Election of a Councillor for Balderstone and Kirkholt ward

  1. Forms of nomination for the Borough Election may be obtained at Floor 2, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale OL16 1XU from the Returning Officer who will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature.
  2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Floor 2, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale OL16 1XU on any day after the date of this notice but no later than 4pm on Wednesday, 2 April 2025.
  3. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 1 May 2025.
  4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12midnight on Friday, 11 April 2025. Applications can be made online. Register to vote online 
  5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Floor 2, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale OL16 1XU by 5pm on Monday, 14 April 2025.
  6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 23 April 2025. Applications can be made online. Apply for a Voter Authority Certificate or Anonymous Elector's Document online 
  7. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Floor 2, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale OL16 1XU by 5pm on Wednesday, 23 April 2025.
  8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Floor 2, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale OL16 1XU by 5 pm on Thursday, 1 May 2025. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Wednesday, 23 April 2025. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Wednesday, 23 April 2025.
