Introduction

We have a statutory duty to hold a housing allocation policy, provide a mechanism to apply for housing and to award reasonable preference to those found to be in priority need, according to the Housing Act 1996.

Rochdale Housing Solutions service (RHS) manages the application process for us and holds applicant information so priority can be assessed and to ensure the applicant is eligible and qualifies for social housing. RHS also gives access to information to a number of housing providers when properties become available to support the individual's application.
