- Introduction
-
Complex Safeguarding is a term used to describe criminal activity (often organised) or behaviour associated with criminality, involving children and adults, where there is exploitation and/or a clear or implied safeguarding concern. This includes child criminal exploitation, county lines, modern slavery including, trafficking and child sexual exploitation. Children and adults are targeted and subjected to serious harm, which is primarily, although not exclusively, outside the family.
The Complex Safeguarding Team is a multi-agency team (made up of social workers, Police, Health and parenting support) focused on tackling child sexual exploitation (CSE) and child criminal exploitation (CCE) in Rochdale.
