We're responsible for the administration of the Disabled Facilities Grant (and associated assistance) which supports residents with adaptions to their homes to meet an assessed disability need. As part of our processes for some types of assistance, we undertake financial means testing to determine how much, if anything, they will have to pay towards the cost of the work.

- Address and contact details including email address
- Age and date of birth
- Sexual orientation data
- Marital status
- National Insurance number
- Passport number
- Employment data
- Health or medical records including disabilities
- Financial or benefit information
- Property ownership details
- Photographs and video (internal and external parts of the property)

- Other people who live in the household, or have an ownership interest in the property to be adapted

We're required by law to provide disabled facilities grants. This is detailed in legislation and guidance including:
- Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996
We're allowed to process personal and sensitive data for the following reasons under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Articles and the Data Protection Act:

- This service doesn't make any decisions using computers or programmes that don't involve a human being when using your personal information.
- How long we keep your personal information
- We keep personal information collected as part of this process for a minimum of 7 years from the date of collection, or for an additional length of time if necessary, for example, 10 years if there has been a means test contribution as part of the Disabled Facilities Grant.
- Transferring personal information beyond the EEA

This service doesn't transfer your information outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
We do not routinely share data with any organisation outside the UK, but our website is available across the internet and we communicate with applicants and stakeholders wherever they are.
