Reason for listing

The provisions of S88 of the Localism Act 2011 are met. The land is used daily by residents for recreation and visual amenity. Local school children planted saplings on the land and it has now become an established woodland with a stream running through. It is a safe haven for wildlife ensuring bio-diversity. Local schools and other children's groups use the area for nature lessons etc. In its present form, it continues to promote the social wellbeing of the community for recreational and educational purposes.
