Following the Ofsted inspection in 2012 which found that safeguarding and cared for children services for the Council and it’s partners to be inadequate the Department for Education issued the Council with an Improvement Notice in April 2013. This was reviewed after one year and a revised Improvement Notice was issued in April 2014.
Following 2 Ofsted inspections in 2014 (Child Sexual Exploitation and Single Inspection Framework) the Department undertook a review of progress made in June 2014 which resulted in the lifting of the Improvement Notice as detailed in the Minister's letter linked to on this page.
