The Discretionary Crisis Fund Scheme will endeavour to:
- Provide support to people who find themselves in an emergency situation and who need some immediate assistance from the local authority.
- Provide assistance to enable people who have accepted a firm offer of accommodation to re-settle into their new home, for example after leaving institutional care or temporary living accommodation.
As the Discretionary Crisis Fund Scheme is an emergency fund of last resort, applicants will be restricted to no more than 2 awards as a result of meeting the same criteria in any 12 month period, unless a disaster, such as a gas explosion, serious fire or flooding, occurs.
