Annie and Frank Maskew met here in 1954, then Rochdale Central Library. Their bequest to Rochdale Library Service ensured that the books and culture that brought them together were available for future generations to enjoy through the Rochdale Literature and Ideas Festival and the Maskew Collection of classic literature and philosophy at Number One Riverside.
