In addition to the Public Sector Equality Duty to:
- Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment, victimisation and other conduct prohibited by the act;
- Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not;
- Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.
Our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy is designed to achieve the following objectives:
- Prioritising the integration of equity, diversity and inclusion principles into every aspect of our organisation, making sure it becomes an important part of our identity and culture.
- Realising inclusive services, workforce excellence, community growth, and reducing discriminatory incidents.
- Recognising the general compliance duty outlined in the Equality Act 2010, we commit to exceeding legal requirements to foster meaningful change.
These objectives, along with the Public Sector Equality Duty, focus on reducing inequalities, embedding inclusion, and fostering community engagement.
