Appointeeship and Deputyship Privacy Notice

We provide a Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) Appointeeship and Court of Protection (CoP) Deputyship service to service users who have been referred by Care Management.

We are responsible for assisting individuals, their carers and or family members with the everyday management of a person's financial affairs. The service is tailored to the needs of the individual.

We collect personal information to make sure that we can carry out our work. The personal information we collect includes:

• Name
• Age and date of birth
• Address and contact details (including email)
• Crime or offending information
• Employment data
• Ethnicity or nationality
• Financial, for example, bank details
• Health or medical records, including disabilities
• Identifiers, for example, National Insurance number, passport number, driving licence number or vehicle registration number
• Marital status
• Religion
• DWP benefits data

When we collect personal information it may be about:

• Customers, service users and residents
• Extended family, for example, parents, children and siblings
• Carer or support provider

We use your personal information to:

• Maintain accounts and records
• Provide social services
• Safeguard the welfare of adults
• Undertake investigations and audits
• Administer the collection of payment of taxes, benefits and other revenues
• Prevent crime and prosecution
• Process applications, requests and appeals
• Administer estates

We're required by law to provide Appointee and Deputyship services when appropriate. This is detailed in legislation and guidance including:
