Middleton residents will have the chance to join in a host of new activities at Junction Library and Community Centre after a major refurbishment, including yoga, ‘Hot Leggers’ line dancing and senior citizen armchair exercise classes starting from January (2017).
Following a campaign by East Middleton Councillor Donna Martin, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, the building has been repainted and the number of computers available has doubled.
'Junction Library now offers a huge amount of activities'
Councillor Martin said: “Junction Library has been given a real face lift and now offers a huge amount of activities to residents of all ages. After listening to the community and speaking to providers, the centre will now also provide Lego and Duplo clubs for youngsters and a ‘knit and natter’ session from January alongside established Karate and Zumba classes, as well as a ‘bums and tums’ exercise class beginning mid-February. This is all in addition to a regular book club run by volunteers, children’s craft sessions, IT training classes and our local councillors’ surgeries.”
