Two new bands join Feel Good Festival line-up

02 May 2017

Two exciting new acts have been added to the line-up for this year’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival.

Honeyfeet - billed as Manchester’s best ‘ethio-trad, barrel-house pop, cowpunk and folk-hop band’ - will play the festival’s main stage on Saturday, 12 August 2017.

The band has a growing reputation as an amazing live act thanks to a residency at Manchester’s famous Matt & Phred’s Jazz Club. They stormed the Bowl Stage at the inaugrual Friends of Mine Festival and blew the roof off the renowned Band On The Wall venue earlier this year.

Much of their success stems from the vocal prowess of singer Ríoghnach Connolly whose powerful folk-soul voice remains the centre piece of their music. The band have spent the past 8 years performing at festivals, theatres and clubs and fields melting down blues, soul, pop, jazz and soul, gaining thousands of new fans in the process.

Another act confirmed for the main stage are new band Delphina Kings. This rapidly rising 3-piece are already leaving a big impression with their brand of 90s influenced indie pop. Putting a modern spin on the Britpop sound, they’ve got support from Radio X as well as BBC Introducing in Manchester and Merseyside. Their single 'Lovestruck' recently featured on the Made in Chelsea soundtrack and their energetic live performances are earning them a reputation on the North West gig circuit.

Honeyfeet and the Delphina Kings will be joined by previously announced headliner Razorlight (see Razorlight to headline Rochdale Feel Good Festival), Middleton band ‘The Bright Black’ and The Karpets, fronted by Tom Hingley, former lead singer of the Inspiral Carpets.

Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns on Friday, 11 and Saturday, 12 August 2017, for another showcase of entertainment, food and culture.

The festival which is celebrating its 10th birthday will include live music across indoor venues, a main stage against the backdrop of the town hall, a quality food court and family entertainment.

The festival is funded by us together with sponsorship from The Flying Horse Hotel, Rochdale Football Club, Metrolink, The Royal Toby, Rochdale Town Centre Management and other local businesses.
