For the eighth year in a row the council's school support team have been accredited by Capita for the excellent support they provide.
The accreditation means the council's School Information Management System (SIMS) Support Team are one of only 24 accredited local authority support teams in the country, and the only one in Greater Manchester.
The team provides teachers, senior managers and support staff with the tools to efficiently manage daily school life and drive improvement in schools.
Accreditation takes place every 2 years and recognises those SIMS support teams providing high quality support to schools and aims to further develop the services they offer. The assessment and accreditation aims to enhance the services schools receive, enabling them to explore the full capability of SIMS and make a significant improvement to children's lives.

It is great to see our hard working staff getting their deserved accreditation; they do a fantastic job supporting schools. To be one of only 24 local authorities nationally, and one of only 3 from the North West, who are accredited, is a real achievement and shows how well supported our schools are here in Rochdale borough."
With a combined 100 years' experience of supporting the use of SIMS in schools, the team are an experienced group, providing strong support to schools, as the accreditation success shows.
In order to gain their eighth accreditation result in a row, the team, over several weeks, went through a process of providing evidence of the support offered to schools. Schools were also sent a survey asking them to score us, out of 6, on a wide range of issues from the helpdesk support they receive to the on-site visits they receive. We scored 5.73 out of 6 for our overall quality of service to schools, which shows excellent service to schools.
