It's well known for live music, but the food and drink will be drawing admirers too at Rochdale Feel Good Festival this summer.

The festival returns on Saturday, 18 August 2018 – but it's not just about the stellar music and family entertainment – there will also be a tasty line-up of food and drink vendors around Town Hall Square.

The festival's food and drink village will be open from 11am to 11pm with a seating area and around 15 traders selling delicious dishes, fantastic street food, accompanied by bars and much more. Entry is free, so just turn up when you're feeling peckish whether it's elevenses, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or supper.

You'll be able to watch and listen to live music and enjoy traditional family entertainment, soaking up the atmosphere and try mouth-watering fayre from around the North West, including meaty, veggie and vegan delights.

Take your pick from naan sandwiches, tapas, salads, wood fired oven cooked pizzas, Greek street food, gourmet burgers, fusion quesadillas, pies and pulled pork sandwiches. There'll also be Chinese street food, Thai street food, halloumi burgers, pasta and healthy salads.

For a sweet treat there'll be artisan ice creams, Spanish churros and chocolate.

'Packed with a variety of traders'

There will also be plenty of bars with alcoholic and soft drinks available, plus award winning coffees. Don't miss the Bubbly Box prosecco and champagne bar with their own limited edition cocktail, created especially for the festival 'The Feel Good Fizzer'. Look out stylish pop-up bars including The Wellington – Rochdale's new gastropub and restaurant.

Councillor Janet Emsley, our Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, Community and Culture, says visitors are in for a treat: "Our food and drink village will be packed with a variety of traders around the paved area and pop up garden in town hall square. This year you'll see the return of some of the most popular traders from previous festivals along with some new additions and I'm confident we've raised the standard again for 2018. As always there'll be lots to keep you entertained whilst you eat, with music on the main stage from lunchtime onwards. There's also great entertainment for the kids in our Family Zone".

There will also be live music across indoor venues, a main stage against the backdrop of the town hall and a Family Zone on The Esplanade.

The main stage will be headlined by Feeder, on a line-up which also includes Britpop legends Cast, ska music stars The Uplifters, country singer Emily Faye, new band Last Race Home, pop rock duo The Curious Incident, Manchester duo KAZE, international songstress Anna Pancaldi, R & B singer [ K S R ], Rochdale indie dance funk band The Alchemists plus new bands VALA, Scuttlers and High Wyre.

Danny Vaughan, TfGM's Head of Metrolink added: "Metrolink is proud to continue our partnership with Rochdale Feel Good Festival, a great celebration that offers something for the whole family. The festival is just one minute from the Rochdale Town Centre stop, meaning Metrolink is one of the best ways to get to the event".

The festival is funded by us together with sponsorship from The Flying Horse Hotel, Arts Council England National Lottery Funding, Premier Kia, The Wellington gastro pub, MetrolinkO2 Rochdale, The Royal Toby and other local businesses, including The Medicine Tap and Rochdale Town Centre Management.
