Junction Library and Community Centre is thriving after an increased take-up of activities and events at the newly refurbished centre.

East Middleton Councillor Donna Martin, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, recently led a campaign to breathe new life into the popular community hub.

And the first 'legs, bums and tums' session exceeded expectations as over 25 local residents enjoying a fantastic evening of fitness and exercise.

Other events in a packed weekly programme include Tai Chi and Zumba classes and 'knit and natter' sessions. For youngsters a Lego club runs each Monday from 3.30pm - 4.30pm and, for under 5s, a Duplo club is held on Thursdays from 2pm-3pm. There is also a combined Lego and Duplo play session each Saturday from 10am – 12pm.

Councillor Martin said: "The take-up for the events has been brilliant and it's heartening to see the library going from strength to strength. It's lovely to see so many people of all ages enjoying fitness and exercise in a fun and inspiring environment."

Information on classes, times and how to get involved can be found at Junction Library and Community Centre
