15 June 2017

Pacific

One of the UK's top new bands will play the main stage at Rochdale Feel Good Festival on Saturday, 12 August 2017.

Piano led alternative indie band 'Pacific' is made up of brothers/songwriters Anthony and Daniel Orze, Dave Bithell and Drew Burns. Rising fast through the ranks of the UK music scene, they have already been picking up support from the likes of Mark Radcliffe on BBC 6 Music. Their piano led EP 'What Are You Waiting For', followed their single 'Time to Forget,' which was played on BBC Radio One along with another eighty UK radio stations. BBC Introducing have long been big fans of the band and Pacific have been acclaimed by the national music press including Q Magazine and NME.

Their big melodies, energetic grooves and anthemic sound has proved a big draw on the live circuit and they've already played a host of festivals alongside the likes of Echo and the Bunnymen,  Basement Jaxx, Maximo Park and Starsailor.

'some of the very best new music'

Councillor Janet Emsley, our cabinet member for neighbourhoods, community and culture said:

"Over the last decade Rochdale Feel Good Festival has welcomed internationally renowned acts who have sold millions of records across the globe, but we've also provided a platform for some of the very best new music too, and we're looking forward to welcoming Pacific, one of the most exciting acts of the year who I think will go down a storm on our main stage."

Pacific join previously announced headliner Razorlight, Manchester's Baked A La Ska, Marbelhead Johnson, The Bright Black, The Karpets, fronted by Tom Hingley, Honeyfeet, DJ Dave Sweetmore, the Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band and the Delphina Kings, plus more to be announced this month.

Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 August 2017, for another showcase of entertainment, food and culture.

Our festival which is celebrating its 10th birthday will include live music across indoor venues, a main stage against the backdrop of the town hall, a quality food court and family entertainment.

The festival is funded by us together with sponsorship from The Flying Horse Hotel, Rochdale Football Club, Metrolink, O2 Rochdale, The Royal Toby, Rochdale Town Centre Management and Rochdale Sixth Form College.
