Digital communications stores O2 Rochdale and O2 Middleton are backing this summer's Rochdale Feel Good Festival.
The stores, based in Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre and Middleton Shopping Centre, are the festival's digital media partner. They'll be promoting the event to their customers across the region as well as having another eye-catching presence at the festival. O2 staff will be also backstage, recording exclusive interviews with performers and sharing them on social media.
'O2 Gurus' will be around to give free tech advice to festival-goers and give tips to parents on internet safety - as well as demonstrating the very latest technology, allowing festival-goers to step into the world of virtual reality. They will also be running a series of exciting competitions throughout the day with some spectacular prizes up for grabs. The deal also sees O2's logo on festival marketing.
The O2 stores are run by
MID Communications Ltd, the largest independent franchise of O2 (Telefónica UK Limited) in the North West.
Danny Simpson, CEO of MID Communications and a proud Rochdale resident, said:
"We're really pleased to be supporting this amazing festival again, using our digital technology to bring everyone even closer to the artists performing. We will also be getting the public excited about technology, with digital wizards and Gurus from our stores showcasing products and offering free impartial help and advice on phones and tablets."
Councillor Janet Emsley, our Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, Community and Culture, who visited the O2 Rochdale store to meet the team this week, said:
"This festival doesn't happen without the backing of our sponsors, so it's great that O2 have renewed their support, helping us deliver a day of fabulous entertainment for all ages. Working with the talented team at O2 last year really helped further boost the reach and quality of our social media during the festival with tens of thousands of people viewing our content in just one day."
Rochdale Feel Good Festival will include live music across indoor venues, a main stage headlined by The Coral, a Family Zone as well as quality food and drink.
