Next stop Rochdale: new band ready to blast onto festival’s main stage

Hot new band Next Stop Mars will play the main stage at Rochdale Feel Good Festival next month.

The pop-rock 4 piece from London, inspired by the likes of Linkin Park, Blink 182 and Michael Jackson, released their new single ‘Torn Apart’ last week and their debut EP ‘History’ is out in August. The band is made up of singer and keyboard player Shanel Jamel, guitarist Dan Kerridge, drummer John Wilson and bassist Denis Jemel.

They’ve supported The Saturdays, Chris Bourne and Cher Lloyd with their energetic performances reaching over 140,000 views on YouTube as well as having a big impact live on stage.

High profile fans of the band include Jason Derulo, and Shanel said they’re excited about playing Rochdale Feel Good Festival:

“With it being the tenth birthday of the festival I think it’s going to be very special and we’re all excited about coming up to Rochdale and helping to get the party going on the main stage on Friday.”

Next Stop Mars join previously announced headliner Razorlight, Manchester’s Baked A La Ska, RedFaces, Pacific, Marbelhead Johnson, The Bright Black, The Karpets fronted by Tom Hingley, Daft Punk The Tribute, Honeyfeet, DJ Dave Sweetmore, the Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band, The Delphina Kings, The Recreation and Joe Dunne.

“This wonderful festival is an opportunity to showcase Rochdale to thousands of visitors as well as providing fantastic entertainment for residents, a boost for town centre businesses and a good deal of positive publicity. This year’s line-up has something for everyone.”

Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns on Friday, 11 and Saturday, 12 August 2017, for another showcase of entertainment, food and culture.

The festival which is celebrating its 10th birthday will include live music across indoor venues, a main stage sponsored by The Flying Horse Hotel, a quality food court and family entertainment.

The festival is funded by us together with sponsorship from The Flying Horse Hotel, Rochdale Football Club, Metrolink, O2 Rochdale, The Royal Toby, Rochdale Town Centre Management and Rochdale Sixth Form College.
