Mr Bloom and his ‘compostarium’ band will open the main stage at this summer’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival.
The CBeebies favourite, who performed 3 sold-out shows back in March at Rochdale Food & Drink Festival will be joined by his 4-piece band for a free lunchtime show guaranteed to get families dancing and singing.
Their set is set to feature all the musical hits from his television shows as well as numerous cheeky covers. They promise plenty of audience participation led by Mr Bloom’s trademark humour, along with a special guest appearance from ‘Peggy the Dancing Bean'.
It’s the first time a children’s act has played the main stage at Rochdale Feel Good Festival, which will also see the return of the event’s hugely popular fun and interactive Family Zone. The Esplanade in front of Rochdale Town Hall will be transformed into a Festival Square for youngsters and their families between 11am and 5pm as part of the annual event headlined by indie-rock band The Coral on Saturday, 10 August 2019. The Family Zone will be supported by Arts Council England National Lottery funding, in partnership with Link4Life. Details on the activities and shows will be revealed soon. Just like the rest of the festival, admission is free and no tickets are required.
Mr Bloom and his band will be joined by previously announced headliner The Coral, pop-rock band The Hoosiers, rock ‘n’ roll band Alias Kid, northern soul band The Northern Soultrain new singer-songwriter Ione, Caribbean pop act The Curious Incident, singer-songwriter Megan Dixon Hood and a local battle of the bands winner.
Mark Widdup, our Director of Neighbourhoods said:
“One of the most popular parts of last year’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival was the Family Zone and Mr Bloom was a huge draw at our food and drink festival so we’re very fortunate that we’ve been able to bring him back to Rochdale with his live band, who I know have gone down a storm at some of the biggest family friendly festivals across the UK. Lots of my favourite Feel Good memories of the past few years have been seeing families enjoying the festival together.”
Rochdale Feel Good Festival returns on Saturday, 10 August 2019, for another showcase of top class entertainment, family entertainment, food and culture. There will be live music across indoor venues, a main stage against the backdrop of the town hall sponsored by
