Generation Z bring a bit of the X factor to Rochdale

The Young Producers.

Talented young performers from across the borough will come together for a night of music, dance and drama.

Generation Z includes top local dancers, Kay Jones and Jordan Worrall, acclaimed writer Adam Farrer, and impressionist Kurtis Tweedale.

'The event will be at Touchstones Art and Heritage Centre on Friday, 24th February 2017 from 7pm. It will be curated by a group of Rochdale students, The Young Producers.'

A packed agenda also includes comedy turns, cutting edge live music, poetry, readings and much more. Tickets are just £2.50 in advance or £3 on the door.

Generation Z is an initiative funded by Arts Council England and stems from the council-run Rochdale Literature and Ideas Festival.

Aston Buckley, of the Young Producers, said: "It will be a brilliant night for Rochdale as young people express their inspiring thoughts, words and music. Expect to be provoked with flashes of inspiration and traces of originality."

Councillor Janet Emsley, Cabinet Member for Culture, Health and Wellbeing, said: "This will be a creative and fast paced event as some of the borough's best young performers take to the stage to showcase their talent. It is going to be a fantastic evening."

Rochdale Literature and Ideas Festival hosted the first Generation Z programme at its 2016 Festival, which included Owen Jones, Testament, Hannah Butterfield and theatre company Goat and Monkey.
