The year 2018 marks the 56th year of the popular Rochdale Youth Festival of Performing Arts.
Rochdale Music Service is encouraging all schools and local organisations to join in with their festival and to celebrate the wonderful performing arts provision that exists within our schools and wider communities.
The festival runs throughout February and March 2018 and is open to anyone who wishes to showcase their talents; regardless of experience, ability, or age.

With more than 20 sections to enter and a fantastic range of opportunities from dance, percussion, folk music, drama and spoken word, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved. Each section has multiple classes to enter depending on the length of performance or age of performers.
Councillor Kieran Heakin, cabinet member for children's services, said: "The festival is always a fantastic showcase and highlights the many talents we have in our borough. I hope more and more people get involved and make this year one of the best yet."
The majority of classes are competitive, but there is the option to enter each class non-competitively, just for fun and to express your talents. All entrants will also get professional feedback from the adjudicators.
Celebration concerts will be held in May 2018 to showcase some of the best performances from the festival entries and trophies will be awarded to those that win their category.
