27 November 2017

Christmas present.

A selection of Rochdale's best small businesses will be showcasing a selection yuletide treats at a special Christmas Market to celebrate Small Business Saturday on 2 December 2017.

Festive shoppers can stock up their stockings with a range of goodies, including sweets from IHM Events, children's clothes from Isabella baby boutique, make up from Pout and Jewellery from Just Sparkle.

Other gifts which will be on sale include bath bombs from Heaven Scent, crafts from Present Crafts and even cruise holidays.

'Market will take place in the Rochdale Exchange shopping centre on Saturday, 2 December 2017'

The market will take place in the Rochdale Exchange shopping centre and will run all day from 9am-5pm, giving people plenty of opportunity to snap up those all-important Christmas gifts.

A special business workshop for budding entrepreneurs and small enterprises will also be taking place in Number One Riverside on the same day.

The free, drop in event, which takes place between 11am-3pm, will feature one to one business advice sessions with experts on a range of issues, including creating a business plan, intellectual property and how to develop an idea.

There will also be a FREE workshop to learn the basics of 3D printing, try out design software, explore the applications of 3D printing and see a 3D printer in action.

And people thinking of setting up their own business can attend a FREE talk by Wendy Breakell, from Break into Business.

Over in Littleborough and Milnrow, shops will be putting on their best Christmas displays for the window dressing competition, which will be judged on the day by local councillors.

'Small Business Saturday celebrates the 5 million businesses in the UK'

Small Business Saturday is an annual event designed to celebrate the 5 million small businesses in the UK, which, between them, employ around 25 million people.

Councillor Richard Farnell, leader of the council, said: "We've always lent our support to this fantastic campaign and I'm pleased to see our borough putting on another great show for Small Business Saturday this year.

"I would encourage local shoppers to drop into the Christmas market to pick up some unique Christmas gifts they won't find anywhere else and new businesses will get some brilliant free advice at the event at Rochdale Riverside."
