Businesses urged to celebrate their success at annual awards

28 September 2018

Rochdale Town Hall.

Companies across the borough have less than one week to go to get their entries in for the Rochdale Borough Business Awards.

The annual event, which celebrates Rochdale's business community, takes place this year at Rochdale Town Hall on Friday, 9 November 2018, and businesses must enter by today Friday, 28 September to be in with a chance of winning.

A new category of compassion in the community has been added this year

A new category of compassion in the community has been added for the first time this year, which recognises all the good work businesses do in the community like fund raising, volunteering and going into schools and colleges.

This joins existing categories including apprentice of the year, new business of the year and employee of the year.

All proceeds on the night go to Springhill Hospice

Councillor John Blundell, Cabinet Member or Regeneration, said: "Now in their eighth year, the business awards are getting bigger and better and to reflect the new and growing businesses we are welcoming into the borough year on year.

"Businesses really contribute to the vibrancy of our borough by bringing vital investment into our borough and creating jobs for our residents. Events like the business awards are their opportunity to stand up and celebrate their achievements. I'd urge them to get their entries in. It's a fantastic night and a great way to raise money for a good cause."

The awards are organised by a selection of organisations including Rochdale Borough Council, Hopwood Hall College and NatWest bank, with sponsorship from local businesses. All proceeds from the night go to Springhill Hospice.
