Make a change to a Premises Licence

Variations to your Premises Licence or Club Premises Certificate

If you wish to change any aspect of your Premises Licence or Club Premises Certificate once it's been granted, you'll need to apply for either a minor or a full variation.

Minor variations to a Premises Licence or Club Premises Certificate

If you want to make a small, low-risk change to your Premises Licence or Club Premises Certificate, you may be able to use the minor variation process. Minor variations are cheaper and quicker to apply for than a full variation.

Small changes to a licence could include:

  • Removing a licensable activity.
  • Reducing the hours you sell alcohol.
  • Making small changes to the layout of your premises.

  3. It costs £89 to apply for a minor variation. We'll call you to take fee by card payment over the phone.

  1. Download and complete the application form using the link below.
  2. Email or post the completed form to us using the contact details on this page.

  4. We'll call you to take the full variation fee by card payment over the phone. It costs the same as applying for a new licence. Check the fee to apply for a Premises Licence
  5. If there are any objections to your application, you'll have the opportunity to make changes.
    • If an agreement is reached, the objection will be withdrawn.
    • If an agreement can't be reached, the application will proceed to a Licensing Committee Hearing. A written result of the hearing will be sent to you afterwards and you have a right to appeal their decision to the local magistrates' court within 21 days.
  6. If no objections are made during the 28-day consultation period, the licence will be granted on the day after the period end.
