Coronavirus (COVID-19): library computers unavailable
In light of the current situation, computers in the libraries are currently unavailable.
However, there are a limited number of computers available at Rochdale customer service centre. These are available to access council services only if absolutely necessary. Rochdale customer service centre information
Some of the libraries in the borough have computers for library members to use.
Book a session to use a library computer
must book a session to use a computer at any of the following libraries:
Sessions last 30 minutes and you can book a maximum of one session a day.
You can book a session using your online library account. Alternatively, you can book a session by ringing or emailing us using the details on this page.
We're experiencing technical difficulties with our online bookings. Please ring us using the contact details on this page, or drop into one of the libraries that are open to book a session. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Who can use a library computer
Any library member over the age of 14 can use the library computers. If you're not a member already, find out how to join the library
If you're 14 years old or younger, you'll need your parent's consent to use a library computer. We asked for this when you joined the library. If they didn't give their consent when you joined, they can contact us at anytime to give their consent now.
How to use a library computer
To use a computer, you'll need to:
- Log in using your library card number and your 4-digit pin number which you were asked to make when you joined the library. If you can't remember your pin number, we can email you your pin number if you know your library card number.
Request an email with your pin number
- When you log in, you'll need to tick a box to agree to our
Acceptable Use Policy.
- You'll then be logged on the computer.

What you can do on a library computer
You can use a computers in the library to:
Magnifying software is available on all library computers if you need it.
Saving your work on a library computer
You won't be able to store or save work permanently on the computers in the library. Files on the computer are deleted at the end of every session to protect your information.
If you need to save your work permanently, you can:
- Save to a USB
- Save to cloud storage
- Email the items to yourself
