Middleton Library

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Middleton Library is an historic building dating from 1889 situated in a pleasant Victorian park (opposite The Old Boar’s Head pub) within the town’s conservation area.

The library is open during the following hours, we're closed on bank holidays.

Activities at the library

Monday

  • Coffee morning, hosted by Rochdale Connections Trust, 10am - 12noon. All welcome. Free of charge. Get ​help with practical matters such as rent/housing issues, budgeting, benefits, liaising with schools and/or education welfare and parenting matters
  • ​Family History Helpdesk. 2pm- 4pm. Once every 3 weeks- ask library staff for more details. In partnership with the Manchester and Lancashire F​amily History Society​
  • Knitting Group, 5pm-7pm

Wednesday

  • ​​​​Bookstart Bear Club (children 15+ months) 9.45am-10.45am
  • iPad and Tablet drop-in session, 10am-12noon
  • IT training sessions, 10am-12noon, no booking required
  • Bookstart Baby (children 0- 15 months) 11.15am-11.45am

Thursday

  • Local Studies Helpdesk, first Thursday of the month, 9.30am-12.30pm. A member of the Local Studies Team based at Touchstones will be available to offer help and advice

Friday

  • Coffee morning, 10.30am-12noon
  • Citizens Advice Bureau Housing advice drop-in 10am-12pm

  • Middleton Library Code Club (for children aged 8-12). Regular event - Saturdays, fortnightly 10am-11am. Call 01706 927101 to check
  • Middleton Reading Group, last Saturday of each month, 2.30pm-3.30pm, except December​
