Rochdale's brand new market is open for business
Rochdale market re-opened on 22 January 2015 in its new location on the former municipal offices site on Smith Street, opposite the Metrolink stop and bus station.
The brand new market is open for business, with around 37 traders selling a host of products including fruit and vegetables, jewellery, clothing, footwear and haberdashery. Handily located right next to the town centre Metrolink stop, a 214 space car park and the town’s new bus station, it’s the ideal place to pick up fresh food and one-off items.
Traders are located in stylish traditional cabins in the heart of the town centre, which is the middle of a £250m investment programme. In the long term, the market will be moved across the road to the Butts to sit alongside the re-opened River Roch as part of a multi-million regeneration of that area.
