Healthy Heroes familyPhysical activity should be encouraged from birth, children under 5 should be active for at least 3 hours throughout the day, the amount of time they are sat still should be minimised.

To lead healthier lives children aged 5-18 should do at least 1 hour of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity every day and muscle strengthening activities at least 3 times per week.

Why should children be physically active?
