Rochdale in Rainbows, the borough's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender+ (LGBT+) steering group, is proud to present Pride. Everyone's welcome to join us and celebrate. Let's get the borough together.

What's Changed

  • Details: as part of an ongoing project to uncover hidden narratives in the collection, Touchstones Rochdale has been researching and investigating objects and artworks that highlight LGBTQ+ connections and stories. For Rochdale in Rainbows this year, staff have been working with local LGBTQ+ identifying groups and people to record their responses to 3 artworks currently on display to visitors in the latest Gallery 2 exhibition, What's Changed.

Inclusive Church Service

  • Booking: just turn up or watch live on the St Clements Church Facebook page
  • Details: St Clements Church will host an Inclusive Church service. The church will be open (COVID-19 permitting), and the service will also be streamed live on Facebook. The recording will be available on the church's YouTube channel after the event.

Young People's Games Event

  • Date: Thursday, 1 July 2021
  • Time: 6pm–8.30pm
  • Location: Touchstones Rochdale, The Esplanade, Rochdale OL16 1AQ. Touchstones Rochdale on Google Maps
  • Suitable for: young people aged 13–25
  • Booking: email youth.service@rochdale.gov.uk
  • Details: a games event for young people aged 13–19 (or up to 25 for young people with additional needs), hosted by Rochdale Borough Council Youth Service. All young people are welcome but you must confirm your attendance using the contact details above.

Celebration event – Drag Queen Bingo

  • Date: Friday, 2 July 2021
  • Time: 7pm–10pm
  • Location: Zoom
  • Suitable for: people aged 18+
  • Details: this celebration evening is your chance to come and enjoy 3 games of bingo hosted by the fabulous Vegan Queens – Gemini and Miasma. Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join us. The event is taking place online. Once registered you'll receive an email with your bingo cards and the Zoom link needed to join the event on the night.

Drag Queen Story Time

  • Date: Saturday, 3 July 2021
  • Time: 1pm–3pm

  • Suitable for: families and children
  • Details: Drag Queen Storytime hosted by The Nightbus aims to capture the imagination and fun of the gender fluidity of childhood, while giving children a positive Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender+ (LGBT+) role model. Tickets are FREE. Please book one ticket per child and one ticket per accompanying adult. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Young People's Social – Walk and Chat

  • Suitable for: young people aged between 13–25

  • Details: social walk, chat and meet new people. For young people aged between 13–19 (or up to 25 for young people with additional needs), jointly hosted by the Proud Trust and Youth Services. All young people are welcome but you must confirm your attendance using the email address above. Exact meeting point details will be confirmed once you've registered to attend.
