Adult Care Charging Policy

This policy meets the requirements of the Care Act 2014,  the legal framework for charging for care and support in adult care services.  

Our Adult Social Care Charging Policy aims to create a consistent and fair framework for charging adults who receive care and support services, after individual needs and financial situations have been assessed.

Under Section 17(3) of the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act (1983)
all individuals have the right to ask the Council for a review of a charge for which they have been assessed if they consider that they cannot pay it. Individuals should complete the financial hardship
form and send it to:
