How to download and view files

There are a number of different file formats available for download on our Rochdale Borough Council website. All downloads should feature the name of the format and the file size close to the link text.

File formats

You can download free viewers for each of the downloadable formats from the external sites that we have added links to.

Adobe Acrobat

PDF files are files that are created using Adobe Acrobat. A PDF file retains the formatting of the printed version of a document in an easy to download, single file. To view PDF files you need Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. The latest version can be downloaded for free. Download the latest version of Adobe Reader

Microsoft Word

If you don't have Microsoft Word:

CSV (Comma Separated Values)

A CSV file is the simplest way in which tabular data can be saved for importing spreadsheet applications such as Excel or database applications such as Access. No special reader is required for this format.
