How we use your information
Our Customer Information Points provide residents and businesses within the Borough of Rochdale with access to a wide range of services from reporting missed bins to making payment arrangements for council tax. Our staff are highly trained and provide the highest standards of customer care.
We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Information provided to us through the Customer Information Points will be used to deliver the service you have requested. We may also use this information to improve the services which we deliver.
When collecting, holding and using personal data, our staff:
- Adopt and maintain high standards in respect of the handling and use of that personal data.
- Only collect, hold and use personal data where it is necessary and proportionate to do so.
- Keep your personal data safe and secure and securely delete it when no longer needed.
- Be open with individuals about how we use their information and who we give it to.
The council may disclose personal data to third parties, but only where it is necessary, either to comply with a legal obligation, or where permitted under the Data Protection Act, for example where the disclosure is necessary to allow a third party working for or on behalf of the council to provide a service.
